Welcome to THinC Lab!

The Human-Machine Interaction and Control (THinC) Lab is based in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Our group is also part of the North Carolina Battery Complexity, Autonomous Vehicle, and Electrification (BATT CAVE) Research Center at UNC Charlotte. If you are interested in research in our lab, please get in touch with ah.ghasemi@charlotte.edu with a short blurb about yourself.

What we do:

The research conducted at the THinC Lab centers around three main themes:

  • (i) Developing control algorithms for partially to fully automated systems,
  • (ii) Creating human-machine interfaces,
  • (iii) Understanding the human user within a shared control framework.
